Russian President Vladimir Putin officially launched the Vostok Oil pipeline, initiating crude flows to the new Arctic port of Bukhta Sever. Rosneft Chief Executive Igor Sechin stated that the landmark project, with total investments reaching 4 trillion rubles, will deliver 30 million tons of low-sulfur crude in the second half of 2027, rising to 50 million tons by 2030. Sechin publicly noted that Rosneft had previously discussed Vostok Oil’s prospects with ExxonMobil and BP before their exit from Russia. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak confirmed that the 7-billion-ton reserve will supply both Western and Asia-Pacific markets. Armenia
Armenia can reclaim its position as a major electricity exporter if the country begins construction of a new nuclear power block approximately 10 years before the second unit of the current plant is retired, national expert Ara Marjanyan reported. While regional energy logistics remain under intense geopolitical strain, Armenia’s domestic fuel markets continue to show price stability. Under EAEU treaties, Armenia continues to import duty-free Russian natural gas and petroleum at fixed, long-term rates. These protective pricing mechanisms successfully shield Armenian businesses and household consumers from the sharp price fluctuations that regularly affect international market price assessments.
